The Story

Kept By The Word.

01 The Gift

I didn't write anything for over a decade.

Not a bar. Not a hook.

I had the gift, and I set it down on purpose. I figured that was the end of it.

God had it bookmarked.

I've been writing since middle school. I recorded young and had an opportunity with a record label before I really understood what that meant.

Years later, a close friend with real connections walked me into rooms with established names around Houston. I performed. Doors opened.

Both times, I stepped back.

I loved making the music. I never loved being the one out front.

So I started writing for other artists instead. My words, somebody else's voice and face.

That suited me.

02 Why I Stopped

Until it didn't.

Because once the words left my hands, they stopped being mine.

The meaning would get bent into something I never said. The imagery became things I'd never want my name attached to. Sometimes I'd hear the finished record and barely recognize what I wrote.

There wasn't one night where everything changed.

It was slow.

I started paying closer attention to what we were saying. The way somebody could get torn down just to land a punchline. The things I was helping put into the world stopped sitting right with me.

And eventually I couldn't keep using a gift I believed God gave me to create things I no longer believed in.

So I put the pen down.
Closed the whole chapter.

And it was a struggle. I won't act like it wasn't.

I had to change what I listened to, too. At one point I didn't think I could. Eventually, I let all of it go.

03 Over a Decade of Nothing

Then came over a decade of nothing.

Ten YearsNo writing.

Then one day, a hook.

04 The Hook
"I got the Ghost, He do the most
When I'm in sin, He don't give in."

That's all I had.

I recorded it, put it on TikTok, got a few likes, and somebody told me I should release it for real.

So I did.

Wrote a few other songs

Then Bloodline Holy found its people.

Parents. People breaking cycles. Believers who wanted something different.

That's when I realized somebody was actually listening.

05 The Way

Then came The Way.

I prayed for God to guide my steps. Every situation. Every decision.

In the name of Jesus, show me how to handle this.

The answer came back clear:

I already sent you the example.
Look at the way that He did it.

Watch His steps.

How He handled adversity. How He treated people. How He moved through the mess.

That's how I've tried to live, and that's where the song came from.

Since then, people keep saying the same thing.

It showed up the day they needed it.

I don't take credit for that.

God is never late and never early.

06 Stepping Forward

I'm a father. No big team. Just a man writing about faith, struggle, growth, conviction, and things I'm still learning myself.

I've spent my life more comfortable behind the scenes than in front of people.

I prayed for a way to bring people closer to Christ and spread his word

God gave me one.

About the music

Every lyric is written by me. Every story, idea, message, and meaning comes from me.

I use AI as part of the production process, including the vocals.

I've never pretended otherwise.

Technology allowed me to return to music without becoming something I've never wanted to be.

I turned down the label. I stepped away from the rooms. I spent years writing for other people and letting somebody else's voice carry my words.

Now the words don't leave my hands.

Nothing gets rewritten into something I didn't mean. Nothing gets turned into an image I wouldn't stand behind.

For the first time, what comes out is exactly what I intended to put in.

The technology is part of the process.
The testimony is mine.
