The Truth

A song by K.B.W

BEHIND THE SONG

The story behind it.

The Way was me watching Him. The Truth is what happened when I turned around and looked at everything else.

Once you study how He moved and truly understand His sacrifice, you can't look at the culture the same. Everybody performing, “Filtering the pain so the followers grow”. Calling it "my truth" like truth is something you can bend when it stops working for you. I watched that for a while and one question kept coming back all this is built on lies - sand, so when the storm of truth really hits, where do you stand?

I started writing this song pointing at the culture, and halfway through it started pointing at me. Truth doesn't just expose the world, it strips you. I had to admit I'd wanted the applause too, wanted the room. There were angles I was hiding behind, and I couldn't walk in the Truth and keep them.

He said "I am the way, the truth, and the life." The Way showed me how He moved. The Truth showed me where I stand.

The lyrics Written by K.B.W

Hook

They selling a dream, but the price is a lie
Smile for the flash, but they empty inside
I look at the culture, it’s built on the sand
When the storm really hit, tell me where do you stand?
I stepped in the Truth and the room got clear
Shadows fall back when the light get near
Ain't no debating, it is what it is
They chasing the hype, I’m just resting in His.

Verse 1

I mean, look how we living, it’s mostly a show
Filtering pain so the followers grow
Talking 'bout "my truth" like truth can just change
Like we can just bend it and switch up the lane
But I seen the real, and it don't operate
Off algorithms or the money we make
Remember that walk that I talked 'bout before?
The one with the dust and the peace in the storm?
That wasn't just history, that was the map
The world set a snare, and we walking right past
They tell you "be you," but they want you to blend
I rather stand out and be right at the end
Because Truth ain't a feeling, it ain't just a mood
It’s a rock at the bottom when life gets confused.

Pre-Hook

Like, wait...
Look what happens when the illusions break.
Once you see real, you can’t play with the fake.
Foundation solid, it ain't gonna shake.
That part...

Verse 2

It’s crazy how heavy the realness can be
It strips all the ego right up out of me
Can't walk in the Truth and still hold onto pride
I had to let go of the angles I hide
I used to want applause, I wanted the room
Now I just want what He left in the tomb
Nothing but grace and the death of the grave
We playing with pennies, He paid what it takes
So let 'em debate it, let 'em rebel
Building their kingdoms that inevitably fail
I got a peace that the bank cannot buy
A permanent anchor when waters get high
I ain't trying to argue, the proof is right here
When you standing on Truth, you got nothing to fear.

Bridge

It don't bend, it don't break.
It don't switch for the sake of the crowd.
We saw the Way, quiet and proud.
Now we standing on Truth, saying it loud.

Outro

Hold on…
Look at the way that it shifted.
We found the Way, called the vision.
Now it's the Truth we live in.
Can't bend it, can't break it, no switching.
World try to sell it, don't listen can't buy it
Stand on the rock, no missing no missing
The Life is next...
Yeah.

THE STORY OF K.B.W

The pen came back.
The purpose changed.

I didn't write anything for over a decade. I had stepped away from music because I could no longer support how my words were being used.

“I Got the Ghost” started with a hook. That opened the door to writing again, this time with God as the foundation.

I'm a father. I'm still learning. The music comes from faith, struggle, growth, and conviction. Every song is an opportunity to point someone toward Christ.

ON THE RECORD / ABOUT THE MUSIC

Every lyric is written by me. Every story, idea, message, and meaning comes from me.

I use AI as part of the production process, including the vocals. Technology allowed me to return to music without becoming something I've never wanted to be.

The technology is part of the process.
The testimony is mine.
